A recent Snickers commercial starring Mr. T that aired in the UK was pulled after complaints from the United States that the ad was offensive to homosexuals. It hadn’t even aired here in the States, but it featured Mr. T firing a Gatling gun full of Snickers at a speedwalker. The Human Rights Campaign surprisingly interpreted this as “homophobic” instead of “totally fucking awesome.” Mars, the maker of Snickers, caved, but not before basically insulting America’s lack of a sense of a humor. The Daily Mail reports:
A spokesman for Mars said: ‘This ad is the second in a series of UK Snickers ads featuring Mr T, which are meant to be fun and have been positively received in the UK.
‘However, we understand that humour is highly subjective, and it is never our intention to cause offence. Accordingly, we have pulled the Mr T speedwalker ad globally.’
I’m pretty liberal, and even I think this is some bull to the shit. First off, Mr. T mounting a machine gun on a pickup is as American as apple pie made with bald eagle crust. In fact, I’m sure gay men will love it because, at the end, Mr. T professes his love of nuts. (more…)
The biggest news of Comic Con this weekend may have been the premiere of the very long and very well put together trailer for “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”. There’s no official release yet but of course it leaked. This is as good as it gets for nerds like me.
Shia LaBeouf is totally fucked today as a video has been found showing him calling a buddy a “faggot” and then begging to get slapped. Tatum O’Neal is playing the oldest blame game in the world for her crack attack it was the dog’s fault! In this case, she tells the New York Post, it was the death of her dog Lena that set her off in the spiral that ended with her allegedly buying crack on a street corner. “My daughter and I had to put her down. It was too horrible for words,” says the ex-kid star. She adds that the cops “came and saved me” from doing crack. Of course, she pleaded not guilty to actually buying the crack yesterday. Fucking ridicoulos. Well here she is semi-naked, so enjoy that. Amazing shes out of jail. I need to be famous so I get away with murder literally!
Here is the trailer premiere for “Choke,” the film based on the book by “Fight Club” author Chuck Palahniuk. The movie finds Sam Rockwell as a sex addict who fakes choking episodes at restaurants to con money out of them. The film opens September 26. Now Chuck Palahniuk is the man, he did Fight Club and in my eyes thats the most important thing ever besides Jesus. If your not into sick shit don’t watch it, if you are. Be warn! On the heels of the successful revival of the “Indiana Jones” franchise, Paramount has set in motion a fourth installment of “Beverly Hills Cop.” Studio is aiming for a 2009 production start and a summer 2010 release.
We can all agree that Eddie Murphy has had a hit in years, and surprisingly hes still around and somehow they still pay him for Pluto Nash. I mean he does great in the donkey in the Shrek movies, but thats about it. Be great to see him do something funny again. Because Indiana Jones sucked balls. Like come on, a UFO at the end! Indy is about finding treasure not finding UFOs. George Luca and Steven Spielberg could of thought of something better. Its a disgrace!
